Remember, to remind yourself, what has blessed your life, and felt sustaining and satisfying. Bask in those good feelings. Then you will be less likely to go for mindless short-term comfort and relief and instead do more of what brings you a rich balanced joyful life.
The Joy Energy
You have wisdom from life experience.
You have evidence of what truly serves and blesses you, whether you follow that wisdom or not.
Maybe at one time, you had- a regular yoga practice, did hypnosis sessions weekly, got monthly massages, had a daily meditation practice, played in a pool league, did arts and crafts, played in a band, prepared healthy meals, and or volunteered, and life during that time felt more rich and balanced.
That is your wisdom.
Remember.
Bask in those good feelings instead of focusing on what isn't serving and working for you.
Invite that into your life or something like it by remembering!
On overcast winter days, sometimes there is a part of me that wants to curl up with a good book and eat sugary carbs or comfort foods all day.
But I have evidence doing that doesn't bring in the balance and satisfaction I want.
If I take the time to hike no matter the weather or do something outside that is physically active, I feel more alive and connected. This is my wisdom.
Outside activity usually stimulates me and gets me revved up and inspired to get my projects done.
Then when I do cozy up with a good book, for me, it feels in perfect balance.
I think of a client who came to me with what she described as lots of funks and down times.
In sessions she discovered, without realizing it, and with the beautiful desire to be a good soul, she had fallen into a mindless pattern of worrying a lot.
She worried about her family's health and well-being.
She was concerned if she was doing enough for her family, community, and world.
She would focus a lot on what she might do to fix others and help them solve their problems.
This pattern of thinking was feeding bad habits and resulting in the opposite of what she wanted to inspire, uplift and truly be of service.
She said she would procrastinate on projects she wanted to do and put off doing things she needed to get done by watching too much TV or snacking all day. This left her feeling unsatisfied and bad about herself.
She has changed her patterns of thought. Worrying is no longer her default pattern of thinking.
As she remembers her wisdom, and lives it, there is no time or space for the bad habits.
She now serves in a bigger way by being a joyful example and following her inner guidance, wisdom, and inspiration.
"There is no greater gift than feeling good in the now moment."
