Often, we wait for conditions to change before we let ourselves feel good. But last week, I tried something different, I spent an entire day simply noticing and appreciating as I went about my day.
I kept saying thank you, a ridiculous number of times, for everything I could think of.
And you know what? It felt so good. A new level of wellbeing.
It amazed me how it lifted my energy and spirit by making that a primary focus for the day.
I said thank you for the bathroom right in my bedroom, what a luxury.
I appreciated my high-energy dog and how much I love her. I appreciated the wonderful walks we take in the mountains and the beautiful trails available to us.
I felt grateful for the abundance of dog food we had, for our cat with so much personality and love, and for our refrigerator stocked with so many yummy possibilities ...
I gave thousands of thank-yous that day for all the many things that bless my life: the dishwasher, my computer, my cell phone, my car, my clients, ...
Everything became a reason to feel blessed.
I invite you to take the same experiment and then notice the difference in how you feel. Chances are after that one day you will include in more appreciation into your life.
