Have you ever noticed that when you’re feeling sick or in pain, you can start to feel better just by shifting your focus?
When I redirect my attention away from discomfort and focus my attention on something that feels good—like a positive memory, an uplifting video, a good conversation, or an inspiring book—the pain starts to feel softer. The shift can be subtle or joyfully dramatic.
The self-hypnosis tools I teach can help you do the same. These techniques allow you to gently guide your focus away from negative thoughts or physical discomfort and invite in relief.
Like a sponge placed in a bucket of water. The sponge will soak it up until it is completely saturated. When you immerse yourself in good feelings they will spread and fill all areas of your being.
One client shared a powerful experience. She was caught up in intense judgmental thoughts about someone, and suddenly, pain flooded the entire left side of her body, cramping her muscles. By using one of the self-hypnosis techniques I teach, she stopped focusing on the negative thoughts and, with her breath, allowed comfort to return. Her tension was released almost instantly.
It’s amazing how quickly the body responds when we consciously choose where to place our attention.
