Are You Being Hypnotized Without Knowing It?
Hypnosis isn’t just something that happens in a hypnotist’s chair for transformation or on a stage for entertainment, it’s happening all around us, all the time.
Hypnosis is an intense emotional focus, and where your attention goes matters. It can either support or hinder you.
Every day, we’re exposed to messages that shape our thoughts, emotions, and actions, often without realizing it. Triggering ourselves into the fearful and negative.
For example, you scroll through social media, comparing your life to others’ success stories, and suddenly feel discouraged about your life.
Without connecting the dots, you find yourself binge-watching Netflix, craving relief from your uncomfortable thoughts.
Or a True Crime Prime series you've been binge-watching brings and edgy feeling of unsafe and fearful, and without realizing it you find yourself avoiding decisions or hesitating to step outside your comfort zone and positively challenge yourself.
You consume the news constantly and experience an underlying feeling of being overwhelmed and powerless. Before you know it, you’ve fallen out of healthy habits, skipping Pilates, neglecting your walks, or making poor food choices, because it all feels pointless.
Pharmaceutical ads can create fear about your health, making you wonder if you have a disease, or build up the beliefs your body or mind will inevitably fail. Without realizing it, you stop seeking out new experiences, stop learning, and or stop making choices that empower your well-being.
Or maybe product ads subtly convince you that you’re unattractive, too fat, too old, or wrong in some other way. Before you know it, you’re numbing those feelings with mindless eating and drinking to escape those uncomfortable feelings.
Negative thoughts are guidance and meant to be a beautiful gift. They’re not meant to be fed and nurtured.
They’re not here to keep us stuck or fearful.
They’re meant to help us course-correct, and guide us to our wisdom, higher perspectives, and positive choices.
For example, frustration over the news can guide me to seek out positive, balanced perspectives, that encourage action rather than hopelessness.
The mind is accommodating. Once fear and doubt take hold, the mind starts looking for more of the same, reinforcing negative emotions, perspective, and beliefs.
What I’ve learned from my own life, and from working with clients, is that where we focus matters!
It affects our health, habits, motivation, relationships, finances, happiness, and overall quality of life.
